Located in Fairfield, California, this project consisted the Library’s two-story building consisting of stacks, reading area, classrooms, administrative offices and restrooms. The building’s HVAC primarily consists of a multizone high efficiency VRF system with heat recovery technology. High efficiency ceiling fans with VFD motors are utilized in spaces with high occupancy density to augment comfort and minimize cooling/heating hours. The Gymnasium is a 11,731 SF high ceiling facility with sport court space, storage rooms, bathrooms, lobby and box office. The facility is conditioned using a 16,000 CFM air handling system, powered by a fully modulating (48 ton) central heat pump unit. A high efficiency Ceiling fan with VFD motors is utilized to prevent thermal stratification in the high ceiling regions and promote occupancy comfort. The system is integrated with the architecture incorporating a fabric duct system promoting aesthetics and excellent acoustical performance. The locker room building is a 6,008 SF athlete conditioning facility with two (2) locker rooms, weight room, coach office rooms and restrooms. The spaces are conditioned using a multizone high efficiency VRF system with heat recovery technology. High efficiency ceiling fans with VFD motors are utilized in spaces with high occupancy density to augment comfort and minimize cooling/heating hours. All three buildings are integrated into a central building automation system to promote system reliability, maintenance and data driven energy savings. Plumbing and Fire protection systems were designed and constructed for all three (3) buildings to integrate into the architecture to further promote building aesthetics and functionality. The overall project scope includes construction of a new Library building, Gymnasium and Locker room building for Fairfield-Suisun USD Public Safety Academy.
