Lisa J. Mails Elementary School, located on just under 17 acres of land near the French Valley Airport in Murrieta, California, is the eleventh elementary school for the Murrieta Valley Unified School District. The school's eight buildings house 39 classrooms (Including four Kindergarten classrooms and one computer lab), a library, a multipurpose room, a kitchen, a preschool, an after-school childcare, and administrative spaces. The buildings are arranged in a courtyard layout, enclosing an amphitheater with a central stage, planter/seat.
Located in the heart of a 220-acre master planned community at UC Davis, the Ramble Apartments at West Village comprises 572,100 square feet and will feature 1,860 units of three-story walk-up apartment and townhome style units. The project will also include a leasing center with game room, fitness center and resort style pool. The project is targeting LEED Platinum certification. The facility is served by high efficiency HVAC systems with heat recovery. Water conservation features have been implemented via low flow plumbing fixtures.
The reconstruction of El Cerrito High School will demolish 196,000 square feet of outdated facilities and construct 192,000 square feet to serve as the new educational environment for the school’s 1600 students. The administration, library, and community support programs are semi-public areas (they must be easily accessible to the public and central to the school as a whole). The design maximizes the natural topography of the site enabling direct ground level access to each of these public areas from the surrounding streets and parking lots. The classrooms are the most private and as such are recessed from the noise and distraction of the streets by a minimum distance set during master planning.
This state-of-the-art facility is a new Science Center that connects the existing campus to the adjacent urban setting. The new building includes 18 math classrooms, 12 science labs, a 100 student fixed seat lecture hall, faculty work areas, and a multi-purpose Educational Development Center. The building is served by a central plant on the campus to central VAV air-handlers on the roof. The system is a high-efficiency VAV/ reheat cooling/ heating system.
This facility is served by a high-efficiency central chilled water/ hot water system with variable speed pumping. The dormitory rooms are served by four-pipe fan coil units. The larger areas have central air-handlers with economizers and variable speed drives on the roof. The domestic heating system is served by a central high-efficiency hot water boiler. A central DDC control system controls all aspects of the HVAC system.
City of Glendale
Designed for Walker Parking Consultants, this mixed occupancy building combined a nine level (three subterranean) Type S-4 528 vehicle parking structure with retail spaces including restroom facilities. The project was conceived to serve a newly renovated area of the Downtown District of Glendale, California. Design services were provided for storm drainage, sub-soil drainage with sump pump, a combined standpipe fire protection system fed by a 750 GPM, 60 horsepower horizontal split-case electric fire pump, CO sensor controlled exhaust and ventilation system, and air conditioning and plumbing systems for retail areas, including restrooms.
Planned to blend into the natural landscape of the community, the new library will be the first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified building constructed by Riverside County. The new Woodcrest Library will be a model of sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, sustainable materials usage, and indoor environmental quality.
New 15,000 facility for AT&T. The facility requires 100% redundant cooling system. The facility was served by high density computer room HVAC systems with fully integrated controls. All HVAC systems were high efficiency DX systems with redundant components for reliability. All critical rooms were provided with integrated fire suppression systems.
