cost: $ 3.2 m

client:

In 2004, the City of Gilroy and the Gilroy Fire Department occupied its first new fire station in over 20 years. This 2-bay, double deep substation is designed to be a prototype and is to set standards for future substations in this rapidly growing City. Generous use of sky lights for internal daylighting minimizes daily energy usage. Small neighborhood group meetings can be accommodated while maintaining separation from the department private areas.
