Designed to the latest standards of the Fontana Fire Authority, this cutting edge facility serves to add additional Community Fire and Safety resources for the City of Fontana. Mechanical considerations specific to this occupancy included provision of rooftop HVAC systems to serve the occupied areas including separate temperature controls for the dormitories and captains’ areas. A central bay apparatus ventilation system along with dedicated CO sensor controlled tailpipe exhaust system to remove diesel exhaust fumes were also implemented. Also included was a backup generator with above grade fuel storage tank, compressed air systems serving overhead hose reels in the apparatus room, sand/oil interceptor.
